SCRIPT: NOT SO GLUM PARKING LOT MEETING Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday 6 PM


Good Evening! My name is ____________________ and I am an alcoholic. Welcome to The Not So Glum Parking Lot Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. We are a group of alcoholic gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people dedicated to finding the solution to our problems in recovery. In the spirit of AA, ALL are welcome. We meet three days a week at 6 PM. Tuesday at St. Mary’s, Thursday at The Methodist Church on Shankpainter Road, and Sunday at the Aids Support Group.

Please turn off cell phones, the voices in your head, and any other devices.

Speaker format:

This is a Speaker Meeting. The speaker will share their experience, strength, and hope for about 20-25 minutes. The meeting will then go to a show of hands with the last 5 minutes reserved for those who have a burning desire. And now to share their experience, strength and hope with us is_____________.


AA Literature format:

I have asked _________ to read the Daily Reflection / A passage from Living Sober / As Bill Sees it etc…. and we will then do a 5-minute meditation, they’ll read the reading again, followed by round-robin or pitch style sharing. We will reserve the last 5 minutes for those who have a burning desire


Beginners Meeting format:

I have asked ______________to read from the Living Sober Book. We will follow the reading with a show of hands with sharing focused on beginners topics. We will reserve the last 5 minutes for those with a burning desire. We encourage any newcomers and beginners to share first.


7TH TRADITION BREAK

We have no dues or fees in A.A. We are entirely self-supporting, declining outside contributions. If you are able, please donate what you can, however, please note that we need you more than your money. We will pass the basket or donate online to the Parking Lot Group, their Venmo is @Parkinglotgroup-AA

The Not So Glum Parking Lot Meeting has an Interim-Sponsorship program. Sponsorship is an important part of recovery. A sponsor is someone who can help guide you through the 12 steps of AA and share their experience on how to live a sober life. Please raise your hand if you have a year or more of continuous sobriety and are willing to be a sponsor.
